What Kind of Time are we Living In?

Thoughts from Acts 4:13-31.

When I read this passage, I think of what the apostles were facing when they stood before the Sanhedrin, who were demanding to know where they got the power from to effect the healing of the lame man who was over 40 years old. They weren’t well-educated men; they were fishermen. But they had spent the past 3+ years walking around Israel with the Son of God, and their lives would never be the same. The Jewish leaders threatened them, but there was nothing they could do against them, because of the crowds there. We find the same thing today with the Church under the threat of an increasingly hostile government, influenced by Marxists determined to see this nation brought under a one-world socialist regime. That regime would criminalize all organized religion, especially the Christian faith, seeking to do away with it, and any and all influence on the world from it.

One of the difficult questions I find myself asking today, “Is there still plenty of time left before Jesus’ return to turn this around, and see people all around this country choose Jesus to follow after, instead of Marx, or are we going through a time now when we’re seeing the separation of sheep from goats?” Another question arising from today’s headlines, “What will God do now, with His specially chosen people (the Jews) under attack, not only in Israel, but in the U.S. and other countries where they’re found?” I’m wrestling with a sense of helplessness and despair over what the Marxist Deep State and its “woke religion” LGBTQ+ people are doing against me and other Christian believers, but I know God has the last word. It’s only a question of how much longer God will allow these people to do these evil things.

Father, please intervene today, and end this siege of evil against me and Your Church. In Your Son’s Name, Amen.
